The Office of Global Travel Operations, Risk & Resilience establishes the principles, requirements, and responsibilities for conducting University-related travel, both domestic and international.

Goals and Mission

The goals and mission of the Office of Global Travel Operations, Risk & Resilience are:

  • Prioritize and support traveler safety
  • Mitigate financial risk
  • Comply with applicable regulations (including federal, state, and international)
  • Promote environmental sustainability
  • Foster prudent use of University resources

We achieve our goals and mission by:

  • Encouraging and facilitating healthy, safe, and more sustainable University-related travel for the Brown community
  • Serving as the 24/7 first responder for all Brown travelers experiencing travel-related emergencies
  • Providing guidance and training for pre-departure preparation (health, safety, security, and logistics) and domestic and international travel operations (booking, travel expense management, and compliance)
  • Assisting departments with conducting safety and security site assessments for the development of new global programs
  • Upholding the principles of and encouraging compliance with Brown’s travel policy
