Booking Travel at Brown - Workday Self Guided Training

This course provides University employees with the essential information and resources needed to book and manage Brown-related travel reservations using our travel management company (TMC), World Travel. Travel Tuesday Office Hours

Need personalized assistance with Brown-related travel? Join us for dedicated Travel Tuesdays Office Hours!  This informal session provides a direct opportunity to connect with experts from the Office of Global Travel Operations, Risk & Resilience and the Accounts Payable team who can offer guidance on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Booking your travel
  • Travel-related policies and procedures
  • Travel expense reimbursement process

Department & Group Training

The Office of Global Travel Operations, Risk & Resilience offers training sessions to help departments and groups better understand Brown’s travel booking tools, policies, and resources. These sessions can be tailored to your needs and may include:

  • Overview of World Travel and the booking process
  • Using the Deem online booking tool
  • Guest/Student booking process
  • Group booking process
  • Policy compliance and best practices
  • Other travel-related topics upon request

  • Use after-hours services only for urgent needs (e.g., flight cancellations, missed connections, last-minute itinerary changes, major travel disruptions, or urgent booking issues).
  • Routine bookings and non-urgent changes should be handled during business hours to avoid additional fees, using the phone numbers provided above or the BrownU@worldtravelinc.com email address. Non-urgent emails may be sent after hours at no additional cost; however, please note that the mailbox is only monitored Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET.

The Office of Global Travel Operations, Risk & Resilience is your primary resource for guidance on university travel policies, compliance, and risk management. Travelers and staff can contact us with questions about travel policy, approvals, system access, or traveler safety, including duty of care and emergency response. While we do not make bookings, we work closely with World Travel and can connect you to the right resources.
